NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Lawrence Township Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a Public Hearing on variance appeal ZV-01-2026 on Tuesday, March 3rd at the Lawrence Twp. Administration Building, 5828 Manchester Ave, N. Lawrence, Ohio. The hearing will begin at 6:30pm.
ZV-01-2026. The owners of the property located at 11861 Lockage Rd. Canal Fulton, OH. are requesting a variance to construct a home addition. They are seeking a 44’ side yard setback. As listed in the Lawrence Township Zoning resolution, section 301.4 Supplementary Regulations section B-1, “corner lots in all districts are required to have minimum front yard requirements as indicated in that District, facing both streets”. According to section 403.3 the minimum lot frontage is 50’ in an R-1 district. The property owners are seeking a 6’ side lot variance. The property is located within the northwest corner of section 13, Lawrence Township and is zoned R-1. Singal Family Residence.

Permits may also be obtained at the Lawrence Township Hall, 5828 Manchester Ave NW, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Building Permits:
Building permits are required for commercial and some residential construction. The Stark County Building Department is located at 7235 Whipple Ave., NW Suite A, Canton, Ohio 44720 and should be contacted to determine if a permit is needed for your project at (330) 451-1770.
Health Department: Septic Permits
Septic permits for new construction are required in areas where a sewer is not available. The Health Department also requires the review of any addition to a structure located in an area where septic is used. To determine if the location of your addition or alteration will affect your existing septic system, contact (330) 493-9904.
